Quantity Surveyor Lead

Located from Dublin, work for Brand-Ireland’s Flag Ship International Construction company.  
We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor Lead, to manage a team in Ireland with focus on International Data Centre projects.  

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for the construction of data centres across Europe, considering materials, labour, equipment, and other associated costs.
  • Budgeting: Develop and manage budgets for data centre projects, ensuring that costs are controlled and align with the client's financial objectives.
  • Tendering: Manage the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluating bids, and recommending suitable contractors for projects.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts for construction projects, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and resolving contractual issues as they arise.
  • Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize costs without compromising the quality and functionality of the data centre.
  • Risk Management: Assess and manage risks associated with cost overruns, delays, and changes in scope during the construction of projects.
  • Life Cycle Costing: Consider life cycle costs in decision-making processes, evaluating the long-term impact of design and construction choices.
  • Procurement: Advise on procurement strategies for materials, equipment, and services related to data centre construction.
  • Quantity Take-off: Conduct accurate quantity take-offs for materials and labour required for construction projects, aiding in cost estimation and budgeting.
  • Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to monitor and control expenditures throughout the construction phase of projects.
  • Change Management: Assess the impact of changes in design or scope on project costs and timelines and provide recommendations for managing these changes.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure that there are adequate funds available for the timely completion of projects.
  • Benchmarking: Use industry benchmarks to evaluate the competitiveness of costs and ensure that the project remains cost-effective.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to stakeholders on project cost performance, highlighting any deviations from the budget and recommending corrective actions.
  • Cost-Benefit Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making processes related to design options, technology choices, and other project parameters.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with project teams to ensure that the quality of construction materials and workmanship in data centres meets specified standards.
  • Dispute Resolution: Assist in the resolution of disputes related to costs and contracts, working to find fair and equitable solutions.
  • Compliance: Ensure that data centre projects comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and codes.
  • Sustainability: Consider and promote sustainable construction practices in the design and construction of data centres, balancing environmental considerations with cost efficiency.
  • Benchmarking and Best Practices: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and innovations in data centre construction to continually improve processes and cost-effectiveness.
  • Reasonable international travel would be involved. Position is hybrid and based in Ireland .
