A top Irish distributor is looking for a National Account Manager to join their team. Known for strong retailer relationships and expert in market execution, they help both global and local brands launch, grow, and thrive in the marketplace.

About the role
Reporting into the Commercial Manager the National Account Manager will lead the growth of the Food & Home portfolio across Ireland, including both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. They will manage key customer accounts and brand partners, building strong long-term relationships that drive sales and profitability.

This role is focused on finding new opportunities to grow the business, improve performance, and bring fresh ideas to market. The person in this role works closely with brand partners on an ongoing basis to ensure clear communication, shared plans, and full agreement on the Irish market strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage strong relationships with key customers and brand partners.
  • Deliver sales targets, margin goals, and agreed growth plans.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and trading agreements in line with company strategy. 
  • Plan and execute promotions, product launches, and marketing activities to drive sales.
  • Track and manage brand partner investment and ensure transparency on spend. 
  • Analyse sales performance and produce regular reports highlighting risks and opportunities. 
  • Own forecasting and SKU-level stock planning, reviewed monthly. 
  • Work cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, marketing, and category teams.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to support business planning. 
  • Resolve customer and commercial issues quickly and professionally. 
  • Represent the Food & Home portfolio at trade events and industry meetings. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports to support team and business success.

About you:

  • Proven experience in account management or sales within the FMCG or grocery sector, preferably with major brands or retailers.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation, communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to merge, interpret and analyse complex sales data from multiple sources and market trends.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working autonomously as well as part of a broader commercial team.
  • Previous people management experience, combined with a strong commitment to mentoring and team development.
  • Willingness to travel within Ireland, UK & Central Europe for customer meetings, industry engagements and brand partner on-site meetings as required.
