This role is responsible for driving the commercial performance of a leading FMCG brand across the Irish market, covering both ROI and Northern Ireland. The National Account Manager will lead key customer relationships, deliver sustainable sales growth, and build strong, long-term partnerships with our brand principal.
Working closely with the UK team, the role ensures clear alignment, visibility and approval of the Irish market strategy, while proactively identifying opportunities for growth, innovation and market expansion within a competitive landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow relationships with key retail and trade customers, as well as the brand partner
- Deliver agreed annual sales targets, margin objectives and growth plans
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, terms and trading arrangements in line with company strategy and compliance standards
- Plan and execute promotional activity, product launches and marketing initiatives to drive sales and visibility
- Track customer performance, analyse sales data and provide regular reporting on risks and opportunities
- Own forecasting and stock management, with monthly reviews at SKU level
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, marketing and category teams to ensure optimal customer service
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends and inform business development opportunities
- Resolve commercial issues and customer queries efficiently while maintaining high service standards
- Represent the brand at trade events, customer meetings and industry forums
- Lead, coach and develop direct reports to support business success in the Irish market
Key Personal Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related discipline is desirable but not essential.
- Proven experience in account management or sales within the FMCG or grocery sector, preferably with major brands or retailers.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation, communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to merge, interpret and analyse complex sales data from multiple sources and market trends.
- Proficient in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working autonomously as well as part of a broader commercial team.
- Willingness to travel within Ireland and UK for customer meetings, industry engagements and brand partner on-site meetings as required.
