Role Overview:
The Label Coordinator oversees the organisation and upkeep of label artwork and files, ensuring they are accurate, compliant, and readily available to meet production schedules and customer requirements. This role works closely across teams, maintaining precise records and updating artwork as needed to support supply chain, commercial, production, and customer operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Label File Management
- Keep label files organized, accurate, and up to date.
- Place labels on hold when needed and track stock levels.
- Retire and archive outdated label files in line with company procedures.
System & Data Updates
- Maintain Excel trackers to monitor label activity.
- Update label status and progress within the QAD system.
- Track label development and share updates with relevant teams.
Customer & Supply Chain Support
- Partner with customers to create and develop label artwork.
- Review customer artwork and printer proofs to ensure they meet specifications.
- Keep the supply chain team informed on label timelines and readiness.
Artwork Creation & Amendments
- Design and edit label artwork using Adobe InDesign.
- Make PDF amendments and prepare files for print production.
- Convert older QuarkXPress (QXP) files into InDesign when needed.
- Produce PDFs for both print and digital use.
Documentation & Procedures
- Write and update internal guidelines on label creation, file management, and artwork verification.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Acrobat (PDF editing).
- Experience with QuarkXPress (QXP) and file conversion workflows.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., QAD).
- Good communication and collaboration skills for working with customers, supply chain, and production teams.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in artwork creation, graphic design, or label coordination preferred.
- Background in manufacturing or packaging environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with label compliance and printing standards is an advantage.
