Environmental Compliance Specialist

Work for Dublin's leading environmental services provider.

About the Role:

  • Ensure continued compliance with all relevant waste, transport licences and permits.
  • Ensure continued compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation.
  • Conduct on-site sampling, monitoring, and reporting in accordance with licence conditions.
  • Keep up to date with all new and upcoming relevant legislation.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports, letters, and memorandums with respect to compliance matters including monthly and annual returns to EPA, TFS, CSO, County Councils, REPAK etc.
  • Management of the 3 ISO certifications, Environment, Health & Safety and Quality driving continual improvement of each.
  • Continuous training of employees in the procedures and systems in conjunction with HR and other department managers.
  • Liaise with members of the public, professional bodies, customers and suppliers on compliance & legal related issues and training of customers in good waste management practices.
  • Conducting site audits and taking responsibility to ensure all issues are addressed and closed out appropriately with the relevant managers.
  • Create and manage customer waste reports including system checking of the accuracy of the weighing information and working with other departments to continually improve the systems and reporting functionality.
  • Assist business development with proposals & tenders as required.

About You:

  • Qualified environmental or health & safety specialist, waste industry experience an advantage but not essential.
  • Relevant third level qualification.
  • Strong system skills including Excel and other business applications.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritisation of key tasks.
  • Ability to work across business units and report to owner managers.
  • Good communicator, comfortable liaising with and training employees and customers.
