Commercial Operations Manager

About the role

A leading Irish distributor of OE automotive components with over 50 years of success is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to oversee and optimise internal commercial performance. This senior leadership role will connect Sales, Procurement, Operations, and Key Accounts, ensuring seamless execution in a fast-paced environment where supply efficiency, product range, and service reliability are key competitive advantages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture sales feedback and competitor insight and share with procurement, while supporting resolution of pricing issues
  • Co-ordinate product launches and ensure clear communication to the sales team
  • Own resolution of customer delivery and service issues, including escalation where needed
  • Manage returns and credits end-to-end and ensure timely resolution of service problems
  • Maintain CRM data quality and support strong feedback loops from the field
  • Build and manage sales reporting and performance dashboards
  • Provide operational and administrative support to sales and key account teams
  • Support internal delivery of key account strategies across functions
  • Report on key account performance and issues, and manage escalations
  • Support and monitor phone sales team performance and service standards
  • Capture feedback and drive improvements in team effectiveness
  • Structure and manage sales feedback, ensuring all issues are actioned and closed out
  • Coordinate cross-functional solutions and maintain full accountability for resolution
  • Improve processes between procurement and operations
  • Streamline workflows and drive ongoing internal efficiency improvements

Ideal candidate:

  • 5–10 years in commercial operations, sales operations, or internal account management “not field sales”.
  • Experience in automotive aftermarket, parts distribution, wholesale, or related B2B distribution preferred; FMCG or logistics also relevant
  • Has owned or managed a CRM platform (Salesforce, HubSpot or equivalent) with a track record of improving data quality and rep adoption
  • Has built or managed sales performance dashboards and reporting for a multi-rep or multi-territory sales team
  • Has coordinated across multiple internal departments, Sales, Operations, Procurement, Finance in a leadership or ownership capacity
  • Has managed a small team or performed a player-manager role
