We’ve partnered with Sazerac Ireland T/A Hi-Spirits Ireland at an exciting time as this company is rapidly growing in the Irish market. Due to their continued success, they have an opportunity for a highly driven and commercial Business Development Manager. Within this role you’ll be entrusted with managing a diverse portfolio of On-Trade and Off-Trade accounts in your designated geographical area. Your goal is to bring award-winning spirits brands to life through strategic selling techniques and unmatched commercial acumen. 

Role overview:

  • Take ownership of a core set of accounts, executing the brand-building plan and activation program.
  • Achieve key performance indicators, including daily call rates, distribution growth, rate of sale growth, volume targets, and effective debt management.
  • Cultivate preferred partner relationships with key outlets by tailoring solutions to meet consumer needs and demonstrating expertise in the Spirits Category.
  • Conduct brand training sessions for trade professionals and collaborate with Brand Managers and Sales Managers as needed.
  • Manage budgets effectively to meet KPI targets.
  • Identify opportunities through market intelligence and customer networking to target the right consumers.
  • Plan and manage your day efficiently, ensuring coverage during key trading times, which may require evening work and residing within a reasonable travel distance.
  • Empower customers to serve and promote the brand to consumers, turning them into passionate brand ambassadors.
  • Develop strong relationships with key wholesalers and ensure all administrative tasks are completed promptly and accurately.

The ideal candidate:

  • 3 - 5 years of sales experience within the FMCG sector, with alcohol sales experience being a valuable asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Irish On-Trade and Off-Trade markets, coupled with strong commercial expertise, preferably in the spirits industry.
  • A proven track record in brand building and commercial execution.
  • Experience in activating brands in the On-Trade and Off-Trade sectors.
  • Strong presentation skills, including training and delivering impactful presentations.
  • Bartending, mixology, or hospitality industry experience is a plus.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with a knack for creating compelling customer propositions.
  • A third-level qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Industry-related qualifications (e.g., WSET) are a plus.
  • Possession of a full, clean driving license.
