A long-established Irish FMCG manufacturer, known for its strong presence in the grocery retail sector is expanding its commercial team and seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to take ownership of the Galway region.
This is a key leadership role with full responsibility for managing sales performance and driving growth. The ideal candidate is commercially sharp, highly organised, and comfortable leading people in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver regional sales targets and grow both existing and new business.
- Lead and support authorised distributors and van sales teams.
- Oversee depot operations, including returns and stock reconciliation.
- Manage team rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Support recruitment, training, and performance development.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of company vehicles and compliance with procedures.
- Provide accurate, timely reporting to regional management.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar field-based sales or commercial management role.
- Proven track record of achieving and sustaining strong sales performance.
- Excellent communication skills and strong commercial awareness.
- Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation skills.
- Full clean Irish/European driving licence.
- Confident taking ownership of issues and driving solutions.
- Able to contribute thoughtfully to sales strategy and work effectively as part of a wider team.
